Mental Health and Wellbeing

We care deeply about the emotional health and wellbeing of every child. Our school is dedicated to helping pupils build resilience and supporting their mental health. This is achieved through our PSHE curriculum offer, applying our Growth Mindset philosophy and various interventions, such as ELSA, Nurture Groups, Pastoral Support, and Five to Thrive.

Life can be challenging at times, especially during childhood when it can be difficult to manage sad feelings or worries. If your child is feeling unhappy or struggling emotionally, you might notice changes in their mood or behaviour. Similarly, we may observe signs at school, such as withdrawal or distress. If this happens we will always make contact with the family concerned.

If you’re concerned about your child’s mental health, you’re not alone. Many parents and carers share similar concerns, and there is a range of support available both through the school and from local and national organisations. We also offer resources and guidance for parents and staff who may need someone to talk to or share what’s on their mind.

Our mental health and wellbeing goal is to foster a supportive community where everyone feels valued and understood.

We update information concerning mental Health and wellbeing on a regular basis and always include a feature in our bi-weekly school newsletter.
