Tag Rugby Festival – Friday 15th March
Match Report
The recent Tag Rugby competition took place on Friday 15th March, some of our brave junior children came along to Hungerford Rugby Club to take part in a fun and friendly rugby festival!
Great fun was had all round and Mrs Drew and I had huge fun watching both the Year 3/4 team and Year 5/6 team play! Although the weather was a bit poor, with a blustery wind that made running with the ball rather tricky at times, the children all represented the school really well and played some tremendous rugby to go with it. Both teams were very successful and won many matches with all of the children getting better and better as the afternoon went on.
Lots of the children certainly were showing a lot more courage both with the ball and when trying desperately to grab those tags from the other children! I was really proud of all the children, especially those who had to persevere and show a growth mind-set when they initially thought rugby wasn’t their favorite thing. Both Mrs Drew and I were really impressed with the teamwork, resilience and skills shown by all.
Thank you to the many parents who came to watch the team, your support was very much appreciated. Thank you to all the children for playing with so many smiles and for representing the school so fantastically.
