Date: Wednesday 15th Dec
Time: 12:00 am
As we move into the festive season, the Friends group have got lots of exciting things planned for the children, including the Christmas Surprise Room, one of our favourite school events.
There are two parts to the Christmas Surprise Room. Firstly, donations of gifts will be invited on Thursday 9th December. Gifts will be collected as children come in through the school gates, and boxes will also be available in each classroom in the morning for the children to put their donations into. Please remember that in order for all children in the school to be able to take part it is one donation per child please! When donating, think of a good quality item that you would like to receive in new condition please (for example candles, toiletries, etc. ) Children often like to choose for mums, dads, grandparents and siblings and it is also worth considering what is easy for a child to wrap. Please also bear in mind our nut-free policy in school. We are very grateful for your donations so that each child has the chance to take part – thank you.
Then on Wednesday 15th December, please send your child/ren to school with £2 per child, so that they can take part in this special event, which is so festive and for some their first shopping experience. The children visit the Surprise Room, choose their present, wrap it and bring it home with them to put under the Christmas tree.
Wednesday 15th is also our Christmas jumper day when children are invited to wear a festive top or jumper in place of their school jumper. The children will be having their Christmas lunch that day too.
If you have any questions about this event or if you can help the children wrap the presents on Wednesday 15th December, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or let Freya Priddey-Chan know. All volunteers will need to adhere to the most recent Covid-19 guidance including wearing face masks and taking a lateral flow test with a negative result before entering the school.
